FAQ’s

What is Hypnotherapy?

It is a state of focused attention, a trance like state where hypnotherapy can induce that trance state and when relaxed in trance it can begin to focus on the creativity and solution based thinking. It takes the minds focus off of stress responses like anxiety and anger, allowing you to find the answers in the subconscious part of the brain.

Who would benefit from hypnotherapy?

Adults and children can benefit from hypnotherapy with a range of different needs and end goals, however hypnotherapy may not be suitable for some people with severe mental health issues, such as psychotic symptoms, including delusions and hallucinations.

Will I be asleep?

No, you wont be asleep, you will be in a relaxed state of mind.

What can I expect from a session?

In our first consultation we will meet and I will take down some personal details and we will discuss what issues you have been having and we will discuss what you would like to achieve and your end goal. I will explain how the brain works and why we feel the way we do. I will send you a copy of my MP3 recording which is free, this will help support the work we do together. We will then book you in for your next session where we will focus on the good things and you will have hypnotherapy.

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend on your situation, for example if you came for a phobia then this should take four to six sessions. Stop smoking is done in a two hour session as a one off and for other things it can be 8-12 sessions sometimes more.

Do you work with Children?

Yes I work with children from the age of 8 years old and upwards, I have an enhanced DBS.
